Ladybird Starlight nursery night lamp

My daughter is obsessed with those light up musical projector toys. The one I've fixed to the side of her cot is constantly beaming little teddies on to her ceiling - she even wakes up in the middle of the night to turn it on! So when Grant from Fire PR offered to send Lucia a Starlight night lamp, from The Torch Shop, to try out, I just knew she'd love it. Shaped like a lady bird, the Starlight is battery operated, eliminating messy cables. One tap on the top, and a coloured light beams through dozens of tiny star-shaped holes, projecting a galaxy of stars onto the ceiling. As expected, Lucia gave an excited gasp, then kept pointing around the room. 'Wassa?' she kept whispering (which translates to 'What's That?' in English). You can opt for orange, green, blue, or a changing combination of the three, and the darker the room, the more dramatic the effect. (The photo gives you some idea, but doesn't really do it justice). It's like creating your own Milky Way - which then conveniently switches off after 45 minutes to preserve the batteries. It not only looks magical, it keeps Lucia calm and content, until she falls asleep under her very own blanket of stars.
Starlight night lamp: £18.32 (free UK delivery).
