Get Busy with the Fizzy - SodaStreams are back!!

I couldn't help smiling with nostalgia at the familiar burp. No, it's not what you think - I was testing my new Soda Stream drinksmaker!
I was 11 when our family got our Soda Stream - so we're talking somewhere in the dark annals of the early 1980s. That was back when fizzy drinks still came in glass bottles, with those nasty metal caps that would shred the flesh off your palms, if you weren't careful. Fantasy Island and the Dukes of Hazzard were on the telly, and Americana was taking over the world (well, New Zealand, at least). Just thinking about Soda Stream makes me recall hot summer days, barbecues, and outdoor swimming pools. But then the Coca Cola/Pepsi war began to reach its fevered pitch, and the two companies tried to outdo each other with cheaper products, and slick, celebrity-backed advertisements. The humble Soda Stream just couldn't compete, and got pushed to the back of the cupboard, never to be seen again.
But now it's back, and it's better than before!!
Alistair from Frank PR sent me over one of the new generation machines to try out. It's had a sleek new redesign, and is ready to take on the bigwigs. As a bit of a fizzy drink fanatic, I love the convenience of having soda whenever I want it. The advantages are clear: you can convert regular tap water to soda in just moments, saving you time, and money. The reusable bottles mean you eliminate plastic bottle waste, and they've got a range of flavours to suit everyone - from classic Cola, to Apple & Cranberry. There's a good selection of sugar-free varieties too. All drinksmakers, flavours, and refill cylinders can be ordered from the on-line store, and delivered to your door.

SodaStream drinksmakers range from £54.95-£149.95, and are available from Comet, Lakeland , Argos , independent retailers and TescoDirect.com. For more information visit www.SodaStream.co.uk or look them up on Twitter @sodastreamuk.
